Comic-Con 2020 is in full swing – and there’s a lot to talk about! Thursday saw things kick off with CBS bringing their Star Trek Universe to the virtual showroom floor. Later that day at SDCC, we had The Boys season 3 announcement and a first look at the opening scene of The New Mutants. Then, on Friday, we had a barrage of Walking Dead announcements, including release dates and trailers for the season 10 finale, Fear the Walking Dead season 6, and World Beyond. Plus, there was a trailer for Marvel’s first foray into horror, Helstrom. 

Of course, there’s even more exciting stuff on the way. To kick off the major panels, we had the cast of CBS bring their Star Trek Universe to the virtual showroom floor, with the casts of Star Trek Discovery and Picard both on hand to deliver some future season teases. Later on at SDCC, we had The Boys season 3 announcement and a first look at the opening scene of The New Mutants.

Deaths: The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) said 45,119 people had died in hospitals, care homes and the wider community after testing positive for coronavirus in the UK as of 5pm on Wednesday – up by 66 from 45,053 the previous day. Read more here.

Wales: Shielding will be paused in Wales from 16 August, if the nation continues to see a decline in coronavirus. It means the weekly food box programme will end, but prescription services will continue. Read more here.
