Naya Rivera’s friends and loved ones are asking fans to pray amid news that she was reported missing following a boat ride with her son, Josey, on Wednesday, July 8. Prayers up for the lovely Naya Rivera. ??
We starred alongside one another in her first very television series, The Royal Family, and I’ve watched her career blossom ever since. Please God, don’t cut this life short. pic.twitter.com/8fRDuuh3oK

Show some respect. All our energy is going toward helping find Naya and praying for her safe return and for her family. No one owes anyone online a performance of grief. This is very real and devastating. Focus on Naya and her family. Not us. We don’t matter right now.

I cannot begin to understand what Naya’s family must be feeling. I know the rest of us are completely shattered, but not without hope. Please respect her family & their privacy in this moment. Please refrain from judging those who don’t show their pain on social media. ♥️ https://t.co/DXsUj3qdCh

According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, Naya rented a motorized boat for a three-hour ride on Lake Piru. “[They] found her boat adrift with Naya’s 4-year-old son asleep on the boat and Naya was nowhere to be found,” the department said in a statement. “This is an active investigation. It is believed that Naya and her son were swimming in the lake near the boat and as they were getting back into the boat, her son made it into the boat and Naya went underwater and did not resurface.”
A “large-scale search and rescue operation” was conducted. On Monday, July 13, the sheriff’s department said they located a body, but did not make it clear if it is Naya.
