Local students named to Illinois Wesleyan University’s Spring 2020 Dean’s List

Illinois Wesleyan University’s Dean’s List for the spring semester of the 2019-20 academic year consisted of 831 students from 29 states and 16 countries. The following local students made the list:

  • Ellen Gilbert, of Northbrook, a sophomore majoring in Psychology.

  • Leah Matlin, of Northbrook, a first-year majoring in Undecided.

To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a GPA of 3.50 or better during the semester, based on 4.0 for straight As.

Area residents make dean’s list at Lawrence University

Lawrence University students were named to the 2020 Dean’s List, an annual honor roll of students demonstrating exemplary academic performance. The Dean’s List is compiled at the end of the academic year once all grades have been recorded. To make the Dean’s List, a student must have earned at least 36 units in Lawrence courses during the academic year and have earned a GPA of at least 3.5.

The following local students have earned 2020 Dean’s List honors at Lawrence University:

  • Leo Mayer, of Northbrook, a member of the class of 2020.

  • Max Altman, of Northbrook, a member of the class of 2021.

  • Maddie Guest, of Northbrook, a member of the class of 2023.

  • Cal Schaeffer, of Northbrook, a member of the class of 2023.

Northbrook’s Mayer earns degree from Lawrence University

Leo Mayer, of Northbrook, has graduated from Lawrence University.

The Lawrence community gathered virtually in mid-June for a Commencement celebration unlike any other in the school’s 171-year history. Held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic that moved Spring Term classes to distance learning, the ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of nearly 270 Lawrentians in the Class of 2020. Mayer earned a B.A. degree with a major in computer science, mathematics and music.

Dischinger graduates from Wheaton College

Wheaton College congratulates May 2020 graduate David William Dischinger, of Northbrook. He graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biblical & Theological Studies.
